From The Fraternal Visitor Christadelphian Magazine (1933):
Germany —The German Government, by virtue of the "Enabling Law,” have passed a law providing for the appointment of governors of the various States by the President of the Reich, on the advice of the Cabinet. The Chancellor, Herr Hitler, is the Governor of Prussia. These governors will really be dictators in each Federal State, under the supreme control of the Chancellor. Herr Seidie, the chief of the ”Steel Helmets," has joined the Nazi Party, taking his army with him. By this simple arrangement Herr Hitler will become supreme chief of the two famous private armies of Germany. The first "pocket” battleship, named the “Deutschland,” has been commissioned for service; and the second launched, and named "Admiral Scheer,” in memory of the commander of the German Fleet at the battle of Jutland. At this ceremony thousands joined in the singing of the German National Anthem. A great gathering of police, soldiers, “Nazi” and "Steel Helmets” troops, with civilians, delegations from every part of Germany, met at Gleiwitz, not more than eight miles from the Polish frontier. With hands uplifted, they vowed that "We shall not rest until the last furrow of Upper Silesia is once more ploughed by German ploughshares.” Germany’s drive to remove from official positions, all Jewish judges, lawyers, teachers, doctors, and Civil servants, was carried out with thoroughness. Nuremberg Christian city officials, and employees married to Jewesses, have been advised to secure divorces. Some of the Jews have been driven to commit suicide. All sports federations are to be cleansed also. Special hours are fixed for Jews to use the public bathing establishments. The entry of Jewish students into the universities is stopped, pending the announcement of the quota allowed by the Government. Schools are limiting the number of Jewish children, and discharging those over the quota permitted. A clergyman at a national convention in Berlin of the "German Christian Movement” said that “St. Paul’s reference to the equality of Jew and Greek in the Epistle to the Romans, applied to things spiritual and the world beyond, but not to this world, where race purity was ordained by God."

Another article in the Pioneer discusses the question "What Hitlerism has done for the Jew." The writer claims that the Hitlerite campaign, so far from being an occasion of mourning may be deemed a triumph. In two short months Jewry has miraculously changed. It has lost the cringing cowering aspect of the ghetto and has regained the look of bravery and racial pride of its ancestry. The Jews have awakened to the realisation that this anti-Semitic war that Hitlerism has declared, is not merely a local conflict with the Jews of Germany, but is a challenge to mortal combat with the Jewish people as a whole. He strongly advocates the "economic boycott" of German goods and services, to prove that anti-Semitism is bad business and cannot pay. Whilst Nazi-Germany shrieks "Let Judea perish," Jewry must cry––"Judea is invincible and imperishable."

Meanwhile, oppressive measures against the Jews show no sign of relaxation. Fifty doctors were arrested on charges of conspiracy, high treason, and the spreading of reports of atrocities committed by Nazis. In Nuremberg, nearly 300 Jews were arrested by Nazi Storm Troopers’’ and paraded through the main streets of the town as a "drive against Jewish society.”
